Terms & Conditions

Dogs must be friendly, socialised, and able to mix safely with other dogs. Dogs showing aggression or a high prey drive cannot be accepted.

Dogs must be good with people and suitable for a group environment.

Dogs must be free from worms and fleas and neutered/spayed if over 6 months of age.

All dogs must be fully vaccinated. Kennel cough vaccination must be given at least two weeks before arrival.

              Restricted Breeds & Insurance Requirements

Due to insurance requirements and breed-specific legislation in Ireland, Bridle House Hounds is unable to accept certain restricted breeds or their crosses/strains.

Under Irish law, some breeds are subject to specific control measures, including the requirement to be muzzled in public. As Bridle House Hounds operates a free-movement, mixed group environment where dogs socialise throughout the day without muzzles, this type of restriction is not compatible with the safe operation of our facility or our insurance cover.

For this reason, we cannot accommodate restricted breeds, including but not limited to:

American Pit Bull Terrier, English Bull Terrier, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Bull Mastiff, Dobermann Pinscher, Rottweiler, German Shepherd (Alsatian), Rhodesian Ridgeback, Japanese Akita, Japanese Tosa, and any cross or strain of these breeds.

By making a booking, owners confirm that their dog is not a restricted breed or crossbreed.

                                      DOGGIE DAYCARE

Daycare is limited to a maximum of three days per week, preferably with a rest day between visits.

                 SEPARATION ANXIETY & ADJUSTMENT

Dogs must be able to settle when separated from their owner. Dogs showing severe separation anxiety may not be suitable for boarding or daycare.

Some dogs may show temporary behavioural changes, tiredness, or require extra reassurance after boarding.

Mild digestive upset caused by stress, such as soft stools, may occur and usually settles within a few days.

Anxious dogs benefit from a gradual introduction, starting with short visits or an hour of play before longer stays.

                        HEALTH, SAFETY & LIABILITY

In the event of illness or injury, a vet may be contacted at the owner’s expense.

All dogs are accepted at the owner’s risk. Bridle House Hounds Ltd. is not responsible for illness, injury, or death during boarding or daycare.

Thin-skinned breeds may experience minor cuts or scrapes during play. It is advisable to put a suitable dog coat on them to reduce this risk. Paw pad soreness may occur due to increased activity or unfamiliar surface.
